Devotionals I Love

Devotional books make a great gift for friends and family – or for yourself. And since many of them are written to start in January, now is the time to start shopping if you'd like a new devotional for the year.

I personally avoid anything that says "5 Minutes of..." or "1 Minute with..." because I've found most of them to be a bit too shallow for me. I like something that goes a little deeper than most devotionals so I'm a little picky.

Here are some of my personal favorites.

  • God's Wisdom for Navigating Life by Tim Keller
  • Who I Am in Christ by Neil Anderson
  • The Songs of Jesus by Tim Keller
  • New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp
  • Prayers for Today by Kurt Bjorklund
  • Moments with the Savior by Ken Gire
  • The Reservoir by Renovare Publishing

I also would encourage to not let this be your only time in the Bible. If you're going to only use a devotional, make sure you are writing our the Scriptures or asking your own questions of the text so that you think about it and hear from God, not just from the author of the devotional.
